FAQ's
1. Do you perform a background check?

Zeta Phi Nu does conduct a background check. While your application is being reviewed, the sorority will provide you with additional information. The background check involves social media and internet checks, and reference checks. If the potential member has a legacy and is recommended by a Zeta Phi Nu Sorority member, the process changes.

2. What is the current membership count for Zeta Phi Nu Sorority, and how many members typically make up a chapter?
Membership numbers can vary, and we prefer not to emphasize a specific count to avoid undue focus on quantity rather than the community's quality. We experience growth during our biannual intake seasons, Spring and Fall.
3. Are there chapters available?
Zeta Phi Nu is a nationwide sorority. Locate a chapter nearby. Chapters with fewer than 5 members are classified as provisional until they reach the minimum requirement of 5 members. This does not affect your membership status with Zeta Sigma Nu Sorority, Inc. As your chapter expands, it will achieve greater success. Our organization is experiencing rapid growth.

4. Are current members of another Greek letter organization eligible to join?
Zeta Phi Nu Sorority permits dual membership, as long as it complies with our Bylaws and does not lead to any conflicts. Please inform us if you are an active member of another Greek organization, social club, or sorority when filling out your application.

5. Time Commitment.

The time commitment can differ from chapter to chapter and from member to member. However, you should expect to dedicate more time during your first few months while going through the intake process, also known as our new member education program. This mandatory program may be time-consuming, but it provides a great opportunity to bond with sisters and insight into our organization. You can opt for intake in either the Spring or Fall. Most chapters require attendance at monthly meetings, along with other scheduled commitments throughout the year, such as service projects and sisterly events.

6. How long is the Intake Process (Member Intake Process)?

The MIP intake takes 6 weeks to complete. Our intake is held 2 times a year (Spring and Fall). Our summers are filled with fun sisterly events, community & volunteer services, group travels, and vacations.
7. Do you have a Legacy?
You are considered a Legacy of the Zeta Phi Nu Sorority if you have a sister, daughter, mother, or granddaughter who has been initiated into the sorority in our definition of Legacy status.
8. Is Zeta Phi Nu included in the Divine Nine?
While Zeta Phi Nu Sorority, Inc. upholds comparable principles, we are not connected to the National Pan-Hellenic Council. We function independently, focusing on serving, advocating, mentoring, empowering, uplifting, and fostering positive change in our communities.
