Our History

On November 30, 2024, Zeta Sigma Nu was founded in Wilmington, Delaware, by Founder Sherlynne Lake and six visionary women united by a shared commitment to sisterhood, leadership, service, and meaningful community impact. Guided by a bold vision for growth, excellence, and lasting impact, Founder Sherlynne Lake led the organization through a transformative transition in 2025, becoming Zeta Phi Nu Sorority, Inc. The organization relocated its National Headquarters to Winder, Georgia, ushering in a new era defined by purpose, progress, and opportunity.

This transformative chapter marked the beginning of an exciting season of growth and expansion. In Spring 2025, the Inaugural Line of twelve women was initiated, establishing a strong foundation for the organization’s future. Continuing this legacy of growth, nine additional women were inducted in Spring 2026, further strengthening the sisterhood and expanding its reach.

Together, these pioneering women have established a legacy rooted in integrity, excellence, servant leadership, and lifelong sisterhood. Founder Sherlynne Lake’s vision, leadership, and unwavering dedication continue to shape and strengthen Zeta Phi Nu Sorority, Inc., inspiring women to lead with courage, serve with compassion, and create a lasting impact in their communities.

As Zeta Phi Nu Sorority, Inc. looks toward the future, the organization remains committed to cultivating leaders, empowering women, building stronger communities, and honoring the values upon which it was founded.

Lead With Love. Serve With Purpose.

Sherlynne Lake

Founder

I am Sherlynne Lake, Founder of Zeta Phi Nu Sorority, Inc. I founded this organization with a vision of empowering women through leadership, sisterhood, service, and personal growth. My goal has always been to create an organization built on integrity, accountability, excellence, and servant leadership—one that develops women of character while creating a lasting legacy that strengthens individuals, families, and communities.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, I now call Winder, Georgia, home. I am a proud mother and grandmother, and my family is my greatest inspiration. They have taught me that strong families are the foundation of strong communities. These values have shaped my belief that genuine relationships and authentic sisterhood have the power to transform lives.

Serving others has always been at the heart of who I am. As an entrepreneur, leader, and community advocate, I have dedicated my life to volunteering, community service, leadership development, and mentoring young women as they strive to become the best versions of themselves. I believe leadership is not defined by a title, but by our willingness to serve, uplift, inspire, and create opportunities for others. Whether I am working alongside community partners, mentoring emerging leaders, organizing outreach initiatives, or simply lending a helping hand, my passion is making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

I earned degrees in Business Administration and Business Administration with a Master of Business Administration (MBA). I believe that learning never stops, and I am committed to continually growing as a leader so that I can better serve my organization, my community, and those who look to me for guidance and inspiration.

Everything I do is centered on empowering women to lead with confidence, serve with compassion, and make a lasting impact in their families, careers, and communities. I hope that every woman who becomes a member of Zeta Phi Nu Sorority, Inc. discovers her purpose, embraces her potential, and understands that true leadership begins with a heart for service.

My personal philosophy, and the guiding motto of Zeta Phi Nu Sorority, Inc., is simple:

Lead With Love. Serve With Purpose.
